Teaching Philosophy After examining all of the take issueent teaching philosophies, I have chosen to side with Rousseaus surmise. A theory which I find to be very complete and practical enough to apply to modern day students. Rousseaus theory had three ideas throughout his writings that he used to prove his theory the nature of students, the purpose of education, and what education should look like (curriculum, methods, disciplines). I will also look at an area in which Rousseau stayed relatively neutral in, that is the nature of roll in the hayledge.The Nature of Students According to Rousseaus thoughts, the surroundings determines whether a student is good or evil. I totally agree with Rousseaus statement that the environment determines whether kids are good or evil. It has been proven through longitudinal studies that identical twins, which have the same genetic abilities and talents, can be affected by differing environments, each negatively or positively depen ding upon the individual situation. Rousseau also felt that most students have about the same intelligence. This statement by Rousseau to me is a moto that all teachers mustiness have in order to succeed. All students have the same intelligence it falls largely onto the teacher to find the way to help the student rag his or her potential for intelligence. Rousseau also mentioned that students should learn from experience and that students are exceptional imitators. I feel that as a teacher one must depart many different learning experiences to learn from. Most importantly, a teacher, by setting a good example can and will greatly cultivate a students behavior and overall performance.The purpose of Education The purpose of education according to Rousseau is to create good people who can live in a free society. Rousseau felt that the following characteristics make a good citizen self-sufficient, respectful, caring, modest, healthy, etc) so that they will become ju st what Rousseau wanted, good citizens who are able to live in a free society.What Education should look like As far as curriculum goes, Rousseau thought that you should teach only what a child wants to know and things that can be learned through experience. To me personally curriculum is indeed very important. I will be teaching K-12 PE/Health, thus the students ages will differ according to the level I am teaching.

Richard P. Feynman was born May 11, 1918 to Melville and Lucille Feynman. His father, Melville, never had a chance to endulge his interests in science, so he engulfed Richard in science from a young age. til now at a young age Richards interest in science and mathematics was extraordinary. He taught himself basic mathematics before entering school. He would likewise read the Encyclopedia Britannica and he gained much insight into science form that. He even experimented with electronics building his own burglar alarm.At school Richard excelled at math and science. On his own he taught himself trigonometry and calculus. He even won the New York University Math Championship. While his grades in math and science were exceptional, Feynman had hapless grades in art, social sciences, and literature. This fact made him less likely to get into the college of his choice. He was rejected from Columbia University, so he went to MIT.While at MIT he changed majors from mathematics to physics a fter finding the mathematical courses too easy and rigid. He took Theoretical Physics (a graduate class) his second year. Since there was no quantum mechanics courses offered at MIT (a subject that Feynman was extremely interested about) he and a friend taught themselves what they could from the available texts. Feynman received his B.Sc. in 1939 and then moved to Princeton for his doctorate.At Princeton he went on to develop a new approach to quantum mechanics.
